Peak America: The Decline of Western Civilization

Three Automobile Indicators that America has Peaked

1) Lowered Duallies

2) The new Mustangs are purchased by seniors and driven like they are in a funeral procession

3) Back in 1975, the Buick Riveria was uncool to be seen Mom driving you. Now its an urbanites dream to cruise.

Large corporations are turning the internet into a ghetto

In their attempt to monetize sites with previously minimal yet relevant information, companies are resorting to plastering non-relevance into excess pixel real estate at alarming new heights. They create java popups right on top of the info you are trying to access. Then they wondering what happened to their viewership after users decide to find another resource for their data. And the advertiser is wondering what happened to all those eyeballs the company was promising.

Dial up internet service is pretty much useless nowadays, it shouldn't be.

Where's the beef?

The US has now established global industries mandating mal-nutrition built upon a backbone of slavery. Why are Americans ill in light of such great medical knowledge and technology?

Consumers aint idiots

Corporations can blame themselves for the recent consumer boycott. They have been inflating prices well beyond the usual norms and telling us how energy costs forced their hand. What is the excuse now with oil prices at $50? Cash flows for paying off the credit more important then earnings through reasonable margins and moderate growth?

I still hear GOP executives tauting the voodoo of lower taxes yet I don't see them lowering prices on the goods and services they sell to the taxpayer. Even sadder, quality went out the door last century.

What makes us intelligent?

It is, of course, our brains physical configuration and health but... it is also our personality. We can't easily change its physical configuration, Mom and Dad saw to this. We can change its health, through nutrition and exercise.

What about personality? A developing personality that is constantly challenging its environment, goal driven and looking for solutions to problems will become, and is, de facto more intelligent.

I think the US public education system needs a complete overhaul of its curriculum. It also needs to re-create a system where kids are constantly being challenged mentally. They get more mental challenge from the internet and video games than the rarely assigned home work (parents are brainwashed into thinking the opposite). These two things can easily be accomplished with minimal initial capital expenditure.

As usual, I am beginning to question whether the US Federal Government is intentionally creating a generation of idiots, mindlessly feeding the oligarchy at large, by mandating such a clearly broken institution. I think I know the answer.
